Unmet Need
As of 2019, 96 million adults were living with prediabetes, and the number of people living with full-blown diabetes is expected to double by the year 2030. Reversible diabetes prevention is one method in which type 2 diabetes can be prevented or delayed in prediabetic patients and necessitates occasional blood glucose monitoring. Currently, glucose measurements are taken daily from diabetic patients, however, these measurements are not used to prevent disease progression in prediabetic patients.
Proposed Solution
Startest is developing an easy-to-use test to detect blood glucose levels in prediabetic patients. The test is designed to be for one-time use and is compatible with an online platform. The test has the same precision as a regular glucose meter, but is administered through Smartest’s patent needle mechanism, which is less painful to patients than traditional blood glucose testing.
